Blizzard’s EU team were fantastically generous and wonderful hosts, and it was an excellent weekend altogether. The biggest highlight for me, and almost certainly for everyone else there, was that we got to play Hearthstone! We had about enough time for three full games, in a relaxed setting, but also with the Blizzard EU Community Team floating around to help us out and give us tips and input on how best to play. It was a fantastic surprise. So, what came out of that? Hearthstone Gameplay How was Hearthstone? First and foremost, what we got to play was an alpha, which only developers and internal staff had previously accessed. It has not changed a great deal in overall appearance since PAX, but many key gameplay changes have been incorporated. Unfortunately, due to Blizzard policy, we were unable to take pictures or video of the play session or anything else that took place. Overall, the game felt solid.

Okay, as much as I love my games and I sink many hours into side-questing falling off tall buildings and dragon-shouting I can be pretty damn mediocre. To give you some background. My loss rate is a pretty fantastic number and the absolute fury that I feel when losing is a sight for mad eyes. Winning and losing matches can move you up and down the ranks.
decks, and news for Hearthstone: standard decks, wild decks, budget decks, solo It took Slimo 59 minutes and 29 seconds to get to Baal and down him, with a Hearthstone and Blizzard has now put together a general matchmaking FAQ.
Nowhere near a competitive deck Lowbie Still learning the mechanics Get thrown against high rank players with full tryhard decks, get absolutely wrecked several games in a row. Sat semi afk in Twitch waiting for drops. Feelsbadman But seriously, how do they expect to get any sort of new player retention when they’re getting absolutely destroyed by vet players with nearly every single card and fully constructed decks with total knowledge of the meta?
I really want to enjoy this game, really I do, but I can’t bring myself to when all you get is memed on every game by players you shouldn’t even be meeting yet. It simply does not matter what YOU beleive to be true, because, as we have told you, it is not true. Also, this is the first and only Bethesda ‘product’ right, it’s also Direwolf
After a hype-increasing beta period, Fall Guys was released on Aug. The platforming battle royale quickly became the hottest game of the summer and accumulated over , viewers on Twitch during its launch day. Having thousands of players trying to get a taste of the new gaming sensation puts a strain on the servers, which causes in-game lag and matchmaking issues that urge the developer to take down the servers to fix them. Mediatonic, the developer of Fall Guys , set up a dedicated Twitter account that announces any server or technical issues that the game experiences at any given time.

Breaking news: Hearthstone: Descent of Dragons guide. The Hearthstone dev team have been working hard on their new system for ranked play. Hearthstone has had pretty much the same ranked system for years. You start at rank 25, and gain stars with each win until you get to rank 1, and the best among us hit Legend above that. Every player will start at the lowest rank – Bronze.
Each rank has 10 tiers, with 3 stars in each tier. According to Hearthstone designer Alec Dawson, this new system will make it easier for players to talk about their rankings. There are rank floors too – every 5 ranks you can no longer be demoted that season, just like the case now. Matches will be decided by MMR, rather than by simple ranking. This means you’re more likely to come up against someone of your skill level, rather than forcing lower-level players to face decks from the very top of our Deck Tier List.
Hopefully, new players won’t get stomped quite so easily and they’ll be able to get into Hearthstone without being turned off by high level decks. Star Bonuses come into effect to help more experienced players rise through the ranks more quickly. At the start of each season, you’ll get a star bonus based on your MMR. This is because every season, everyone gets reset down to Bronze
Hearthstone remains evergreen for Blizzard thanks to an ever-evolving meta and significant updates over a number of years, but this next one might be the most important yet In the world of always online free-to-play games, seasons and content drops are not only expected by players; but that they happen in a timely and orderly fashion, too. And much like the recent string of thematic updates, the Year of the Phoenix will see the release of three major expansions — each with their own brand-new cards and mechanics.
Plus, the usual suite of competitive updates arriving throughout the year. And of course, more Hearthstone esports.

Trying to figure out how the new Hearthstone ranking system works? Blizzard’s colossal card game has seen a flurry of changes over the past few weeks. In a short space of time we’ve got a tenth class, the Ashes of Outland expansion, and frequent balance patches. On top of this, Ranked play has undergone a serious makeover. Whether you’re climbing the ladder after a long Hearthstone vacation, or need clarification on how win streaks and star bonuses determine your rank, pull up a chair by the PC Gamer hearth and let’s get started.
From the new leagues, to end of season rewards, here’s how the new Hearthstone ranking system works. There are two Ranked ladders in Hearthstone: Standard and Wild. Standard format includes cards from all the expansions released in the past two years including the Demon Hunter Initiate set , as well as the Basic and Classic sets. Wild format allows you to play with cards from any set.
There are now five regular leagues in the Hearthstone Ranked system, spanning Bronze to Diamond, with ten ranks in each. Players that advance beyond Diamond 1 rank move into Legend tier, which operates similarly to before. New players now enter the Apprentice League rather than jumping straight into regular Ranked play.

The GameSparks platform provides a matchmaking system out of the box. All to do was create a match and configure it using a friendly screen with drop down.
UPDATE 2: As those of you playing Hearthstone may have observed, the patch implementing the card changes promised below is now available, so it’s time to boot out all those Novice Engineers and make tricky decisions about your Dark Iron Dwarfs and Defenders of Argus. The patch was around 5MB, I think. It’s also brought with it a few new issues, which are being rounded up on the official forum. The main new ones seem to be slowness operating the card collection pages and the occasional issue cancelling quests and receiving new ones, although anecdotally I didn’t experience either of these when I played a few games just now.
The patch also seems to have hidden charms, too. For example, I noticed that the matchmaking process now shows you how long the average wait is for a game and how long you’ve waited so far. Has anyone spotted anything else? UPDATE: Following the card changes announcement, Blizzard community manager Zeriyah tweeted to say the team was “shooting for sometime this week” with the patch that will introduce them.
Elsewhere, senior game designer Ben Brode tweeted that the minion-swapping, card overlap and hovering minion bugs wouldn’t be dealt with in the same update.

Ashes of Outland marks the start of the first phase of our new Hearthstone year—the Year of the Phoenix! On the roadmap below, you can see the massive amount of content we have coming this year!
